CENTRAL SCHOOL

MEETING OF COMMITTEE. ANNUAL CONCERT BY PUPILS. A meeting of the Central School committee was held last night, Mr J. E. MeV. Calwell presiding. All members were oresent, except Mr Wesney, from whom an apology for absence was received.

The secretary submitted a financial statement which was received, and correspondence dealt with. The headmaster (Mr E. G. Coddington) submitted a very satisfactory report of attendance and progress, and intimated that the usual annual concert would be held on December 14 and 15, and he invited the co-operation of as many of the members of the committee as could attend.

Various requirements were considered, and left in the hands of Mr Braggins to attend to and a special meeting of the works committee was arranged to consider the duties and remuneration of the school cleaner on Tuesday next. The headmaster expressed the greetings of the Christmas season to the committee which the chairman heartily reciprocated, and extended the congratulations of the committee to him and the school staff for their excellent and enthusiastic work during the past yer. It was arranged that the next meeting be held on the first Thursday in February.
