CHRISTMAS CHEER
VISIT TO BUCHANAN HOME.
Members of the Women’s National Welfare League paid their Christmas visit to the Buchanan Home, Greytown, yesterday, when an enjoyable afternoon was spent with the old folks. A musical entertainment was given by the members of the league and friends, Mrs Coleman playing the accompaniments. The soloists were Mrs A. Carstens and Miss E. Ralph while Misses Judd and Ralph gave vocal duets and Miss Jean Douglas a recitation. Christmas carols were also sung. The Matron, Miss Higginson, was presented with a bouquet and flowers and sweets were distributed to the inmates. Afternoon tea was provided for everyone. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to the visitors by the inmates. The visitors then entertained by the matron at afternoon tea. Others who assisted with the arrangements for the visit were Mesdames T. F. Watson, S. J. Munn, A. W. McKenzie, F. Daniell, C. N. Stilburn,- A. Whyborn, S. Fletcher, H. Brass and Miss C. Cameron.
