WOMEN’S DIVISION

RANGITUMAU MEETING. The December meeting of the Rangitumau branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union was presided over by Mrs N. McLachlan in the absence of Mrs D. James through illness. There was a very good display in the Christmas novelty competition which was won by Mrs Chorley, with a beautiful patchwork cushion. Miss Kemble’s entry was second. In the single bloom, Mrs Duckett was first and Miss Harvey second. Mrs Duckett was also first in the competition for three blooms with Miss Cusack second.

The sixpenny surprise packets were very popular. Miss Harvey and Miss F. Wrigley were tea hostesses..

A Christmas present and a dainty posy were forwarded to Mrs James together with Christmas greetings and best wishes for a speedy recovery from members of the branch.
