ODD FELLOWS’ LODGE
BUSINESS AT FORTNIGHTLY MEETING. The Manchester Unity Odd Fellows’ usual fortnightly meeting was presided over by Sister P. Wilton. Three new members were initiated into the lodge.
Several members accepted an invitation to visit Johnsonville Lodge on Saturday, December 17. The Lodge decided to hold a social evening next lodge night for members, their wives and friends.
Sisters A. Davy, M. Prout and M. Morris were appointed .to the management committee of the Juvenile Lodge. This branch had a good record during the past year, and great interest was displayed by the members. The G.M. of the District, Sister E. McFarlane, had visited the lodge and installed their officers.
The report of the Cricket Club was received from Bro E. Mooney. In connection with the Christmas gift scheme it was stated that the list of children had been completed. Over 200 will receive Christmas presents on December 24.
During the past year the Lodge has paid out £348 for sick benefits, ard seventeen members, were initiated. The interest taken by all members augurs well for the coming year.
