Brown reports as follows for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. today:— Barograph, 29.7; shade temperature, maximum 66.2, minimum 45.7; terrestrial, 38.2; sunshine, 5 hours 50 minutes; rain, 46 points. Mr H. M. Boddington reports that 37 points of rain fell at Solway durng the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. today.
General situation: An exceptionally . deep depression is now crossing the .N southern portion of the Dominion. There has been a rise of pressure over south-eastern Australia. Forecast. Strong north-westerly winds to gales. Weather cloudy to overcast with occasional rain. Temperatures mild.
