MEETING OF WORKMEN’S FRIEND.
A meeting of directors of the Workmen’s Friend, No 2, Building Society was held last night, Mr F. J. Hunn presiding. Others present were Messrs W. Kemp, T. R. Braggins, A. V. Dixon, E. J. Brown, C. W. Walker, E. H. Morton and E. A. Hubbard. An apology for absence was received from Mr W. H. Jackson.
A member applied for an adjustment of his shares in accordance with an order by the Mortgage Adjustment Commission. The secretary was instructed to make the necessary adjustment.
The representatives of two deceased members applied for withdrawal.
It was decided to hold the next meeting on the first Wednesday in February. An extraordinary general meeting was also held for an appropriation of £4OO by sale. No tenders being received, a ballot was held. Messrs E. J. Brown and T. B. Braggins were appointed scrutineers, and the ballot resulted in Mrs A. R. Walker being declared entitled to £2OO in respect of two shares held, and Mr E. J. Brown being entitled to the other £2OO. Five marbles drawn represented unfinancial members.
