SAFETY FIRST
LOCAL ASSISTANCE OFFERED. Because of the dangers besetting motorists whose cars are fitted with defective tyres and tubes, the Reliance Rebuilt Tyre Co., of Dixon Street, Masterton, wish to assist the Minister of Transport in his “Safety First” week by giving motorists free examination of inner tubes and inner walls of tyre covers. Hot weather causes weak tubes to “blow-out,” one of the most dangerous accidents befalling any motorist particularly if travelling at speed. Only a careful and skilled examination of the tubes can show whether such a potential danger exists. It is this examination which the Reliance Rebuilt Tyre Co. offers free to readers of the “Times-Age” who may have any doubts as to the soundness of the tubes and tyres on their cars. There is no obligation toward the examiners; it is a free service offered voluntarily in the interests of road safety.*
