COLONEL C. T. MAJOR. By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright. (Received This Day, 12.45 p.m.) LONDON, December 6. Obituary: Colonel C. T. Major. The late Colonel Charles Thomas Major was born in December, 1869, and was a son of the late Mr Charles Major, of Auckland. He married in 1903, Miss Mabel Nalder, daughter of Mr H. N. Nalder of Nelson. He was educated at Nelson College and Auckland University, taking his M.A. and B.Sc. degrees. 'He served in the South African War in 1899-1901, was mentioned in despatches, and was awarded the Queen’s Medal and D.S.O. He was headmaster of the King's College, Auckland, from 1905 till 1926.
