COUNCIL OF SPORT
SETTING UP OF DISTRICT COMMITTEES.
PROPOSALS IN WAIRARAPA.
Two members of the National Council of Sport, the secretary, Mr W. A. Jameson and Mrs Mclnnes, visited the Wairarapa yesterday to discuss with local body representatives the preliminary steps for the setting up of district committees.
At Masterton they were met by the chairman, Mr R. E. Gordon Lee, and the Clerk, Mr J. C. D. Mackley, of the Masterton County Council, and by the Mdyor, Mr T. Jordan, and the Town Clerk, Mr T. T. Denbee. It was suggested to the visiting members of the council that a committee should be set up embodying the Mastertcn Borough and the Masterton, Mauriceville and Castlepoint counties, each of which should provide a representative on the committee. The suggestion was approved.
It is understood that the Minister hopes to have all district committees appointed before the new year.
