OBITUARY
MRS J. MacKENZIE. The death occurred in the Greytown Hospital this morning of Mrs Naomi Elizabeth MacKenzie, of Upper Plain. Masterton, widow of the late Mr J. MacKenzie. The late Mrs MacKenzie. who was 83 years of age, had been indisposed for a considerable time. Born at Northhampton, she arrived in New Zealand at the age of 16 years and had lived in Masterton ever since. She was one of the oldest residents of the Wairarapa and was an active supporter ot the Presbyterian Church and a noted social worker in the early days of Masterton. She is survived by two daughters! Mrs W. B. Russell (Lower Hutt) and Mrs J. King (Whakatane) r and eight sens, Messrs E. (-Hawke’s Bay), W. A. (Palmerston North), Colin (Opunake), Eric (Wellington), Nalhley (Lower Hutt), and Tom, Vin, and Leo (Masterton). There are also 32 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Her husband predeceased her 4 years ago. The funeral will take place on Wednesday and will leave the chapel of Hyde’s Funeral Services, Church Street, at 2 p.m. for the Masterton Cemetery.
