MR EDEN’S TOUR
DEPARTURE FOR UNITED STATES. WILL CONFER UNOFFICIALLY WITH PRESIDENT. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY. December 3. Mr Anthony Eden sailed* today for the United States of America where he will fulfil a number of speaking engagements. The Foreign Secretary, Lord Halifax, made a reference in the House of Lords to Mr Eden’s visit today, which he said was welcomed by His Majesty's Government. It 'is entirely unofficial. It is officially announced in Washington that Mr Eden will visit the capital on December 13. when he is expected to confer with President Roosevelt.
