MISS SHELTON FAREWELLED
AN ENJOYABLE FUNCTION. An enjoyable evening was spent in the St. Matthew’s Parish Hall recently, when members of St. Matthew's choir tendered a social evening to Miss Shelton, who is leaving Masterton to join the staff of the , Rotorua High School. Games and competitions were indulged in, which, combined with dancing, soon passed the time away most pleasantly. A sumptuous' supper was later served in the Common Room. The Rev. E. J. Rich referred in eulogistic terms of the past services willingly and efficiently given by Miss Shelton. On behalf of those present, he asked Miss Shelton to accept a beautifully-bound Bible as a token of the esteem in which she was held. Miss Shelton feelingly responded, expressing thanks for the many good wishes extended to her. The singing of “Auld Lang Syne” and the National Anthem terminated a very pleasant function.
