Mrs Nell Smith, of Wellington, was a week-end visitor to Masterton. Miss Jones is on a visit to Mrs A. P. A. Clapshaw, of Featherston.

Mrs M. O’Connell, of Palmerston North, is spending a holiday in Carterton.

Miss O. Eddy, of Tararua Street, Masterton, is the guest of Mrs Hayes, Lower Hutt.

Mrs S. Barnaro, who had been the guest of Mrs D. Eising, of Makomako, has returned to Inglewood. Mrs Edgar Hornblow, of Hataitai, is visiting her sister, Mrs L. Cross, Church Street, Masterton.

Miss Betty Renner, who is studying at the Wellington Training College, returned to Masterton on Saturday for the Christmas vacation. Miss I. Sorensen, Victoria Street, Carterton. who has been on an extended visit to Sydney, has returned to Carterton. /,

Miss Freeman, who has recently arrived from England, is the guest of Mrs J. T. Holland at the Vicarage, Featherston.

The friends of Mrs A. H. Meyrick, Wyndham Street, Carterton, will regret to learn that she is a patient in the Masterton Hospital. A very pleasant gift afternoon was given recently at the home of Mrs C. H. Arrow, “Hillcrest,” Pahiatua, in honour of Miss Eileen Hoggard, whose marriage will take place early in the New Year. • The hostesses were Mesdames Arrow and J. D. Thomson and Miss Lee Arrow.
