MARTINBOROUGH
WOMEN'S INSTITUTE. (“Times-Age” Special.) There was a good attendance at Thursday’s meeting of the Martinborough Women’s Institution which was presided over by Mrs J. Lamb. Mrs Knell and Mrs Yates gave comprehensive reports on the Federation meetings held in Eketahuna and Masterton, respectively. A very interesting and .instructive demonstration of cake icing was given by Mesdamcs Brimble and McFirn. A donation was made towards the Buchanan Home Christmas Cheer Fund. A competition for a cushion resulted in Mrs S. Davidson being first and Mrs Hamilton second. A competition for a supper cloth was won by Mrs Dix, Blenheim. A vote of thanks was accorded and shoulder sprays presented to those who assisted to make the meeting a success. Recently a very successful Children's Barty was held at Mrs S. Boyd's residence. Gifts from a well laden Christmas Tree being distributed to the children. In February a Garden Party is to be held at Mrs S. Davidson's home. Personal. Mr McNally is paying a short visit to Hamilton.
