OUR OWN INDUSTRIES

CAMPAIGN TO STIMULATE EXPANSION ANNOUNCED BY MINISTER. ADDRESS BY LORD GALWAY ON MONDAY. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Minister of Industries and Commerce today announced the inauguration of an intensive campaign to stimulate the expansion of Dominion manufacturing industries. The campaign will be launched on Monday evening by the Governor-General, who will broadcast an address over the national wireless stations. Special stress is laid on Christmas gifts. The campaign has the object of instilling a psychology of New Zealand mindedness. “Some £24,000,000 of extra spending power has been placed in the hands of the people,” the Minister stated, “and of this only one-third has gone into our own factories. Our national wealth is represented in our national production, and to sustain and improve our standard of living it is essential that there should be more production.”
