BOXING DECISION
FAILS TO GIVE SATISFACTION IN ASHBURTON. NOISY SCENE FOLLOWS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) ASHBURTON, December 3. At the conclusion of the AdamsFoster boxing bout last evening, an unprecedented happening in the annals of boxing in Ashburton occurred and pandemonium prevailed, Adams obviously being the public selection. Mr J, H. Grigg, one of the judges, entered the ring and endeavoured to make himself heard. For a time he was unsuccessful, but he was ultimately given a fairly good hearing. Mr Grigg said that as the decision was given as a draw, he was finished with boxing in Ashburton. (Uproar). They had seen a good boxer (pointing to Foster) against a wrestler (pointing to Adams). The uproar was now deafening and it was some moments before Mr Grigg could proceed. For his part, he concluded, he was finished with boxing in Ashburton. This statement was received with catcalls and booing. .
