CHURCH SERVICES
The services at the Presbyterian Church tomorrow will be conducted by the Rev John Davie. There will be communion service at 11 a.m.. and a supplementary communion at 7 p.m. The Masterton Baptist Fellowship’s usual monthly meeting will be held in the Oddfellows’ Hall, Queen Street, on Tuesday, December 6, at 7.30 p.m. A hearty welcome is extended to all Baptists to attend this meeting. The Rev L. A. North, the newly-apointed general secretary of the N.Z. Baptist Union, will be the principal' speaker. The'Rev Hayes-Lloyd, of Lower Hutt, will also address the meeting. Baptists should make a point of hearing Mr North, who has recently returned from an extended tour of England and the Continent, and is a most inspiring speaker. Tomorrow is the annual Maori Mission Sunday with the Church of England. At St Matthew’s Church there will be celebrations at 8 a.m. and 11 a.m., and evensong at 7 p.m. At Kuripuni there will be a service in the evening, and in the afternoon St Matthew’s Choir will render carols at the annual prize-giving service at Taueru. Special Sunday school anniversary services will be held in the Methodist Church at Kuripuni on Sunday, and will be marked by three interesting services. At 10.45 a.m., the Central School boys’ band will lead Masterton Scouts to the service at 11 o’clock, which will be conducted by Mr F. G. Rutter. At 2.45 p.m. a monster young people’s rally will be held, when guest artists will be the West School band. The service will be conducted by Mr A. E. Bate, followed by Bible Class tea at 5 p.m. A spectacular children’s service will be held at 7 p.m., conducted by Rev Fred. J. Parker. At all the services a children’s choir of 80 voices, under Mr W. Davies, will lead the singing.
At the Kuripuni Methodist Church, after a shortened morning service, the quarterly Communion service will be held, the Rev Fred. J. Parker being the preacher. The evening service will be conducted by Pastor C. H. Skuse.
