SHOT WHILE ESCAPING
MEMBERS OF RUMANIAN IRON GUARD.
ATTEMPTED RESCUE IN FOREST.

Fourteen former members of the Iron Guard, including its former leader, Codreanu, and murderers of M M Duca and Stalescu in 1933, were shot dead when trying to escape while they were being transported from a Moldavian prison to the military gaol at Bucharest.
The prisoners’ cars were ambushed in a forest by Codreanu’s supporters. The prisoners jumped from the cars and were shot by their guards as they fled.
