TRAGEDY AT WAIONE. OLD MAN’S DEATH. (“Times-Age” Special.) A tragedy occurred at Pongaroa on M.onday. Charles Maurice Weavers, aged 80 years, being found with his throat cut, in an outhouse at his daughter’s residence at Waione. He was removed to Dannevirke Hospital, where he died at 2 a.m. yesterday. The late Mr Weavers was very well known through the district and was highly respected. During many years’ residence in Dannevirke he was actively associated with St John’s Church, and was a popular member of; the Dannevirke Bowling Club. He was a widower, and bad been in faili 'g health for some time. His passing in such tragic circumstances will be deeply regretted by a wide circle of friends.
