NIGHT TOURNAMENT. FIRST OF SERIES. (“Times-Age” Special.) The first of a series of night tournaments organised by the local bowling club took place last evening. The tournament was a pronounced success the whole of the green being occupied, visitors participating from Carterton and Featherston. The skips’ prize was won by Mr O’Neale (Featherston) and the leads’ prize by Mr Hyland (Featherston). Results: — M. Hardie’s trophy:—First round: Knell beat Pike; Green beat McNally; Jolly beat Feast; T. Smith beat Bain; Lamb beat Caseley; McCardle beat Yates; Williamson beat Boyd; Skill a bye. D. Green’s trophy.—First round: Feast beat Pryor; McCardle beat Corfield: Cuthbert beat Bing; Jenkins beat Bain. Second round: Feist beat McCardle; Jenkins beat Cuthbert; Bain beat Bing; Pryor beat Corfield. Eliminated: Bing and Corfield.
