FRANCE & GERMANY

DECLARATION OF MUTUAL RESPECT HERR HITLER RECEIVES NEW AMBASSADOR. HOPES OF AN IMPROVEMENT IN EUROPE. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received This Day, 11.5 a.m.) BERLIN, November 22. Herr Hitler received M. Coulondre, the new French Ambassador, who, in presenting his credentials, declared that France and Germany had been enemies on the battlefield and had learned mutual respect. He added that a common frontier in trade and industry made it desirable to live in harmony. Herr Hitler responded that the two countries had every reason to foster neighbourliness. Peaceful Franco-Ger-man competition could contribute to an all round improvement in Europe.
