POLITICAL RUMOURS
TALK OF OVERTHROWING MR CHAMBERLAIN FORMATION OF NATIONAL OPPOSITION. LABOUR PARTY DENIAL. (Independent Cable Service.) LONDON, November' 22. Labour Party and Co-operative Society leaders will meet privately in London on November 23 to discuss a campaign to overthrow the Government. The fact chat the agenda for the meeting does not exclude consideration of policy for this purpose is one factor which has given rise to reports of plans for the formation of a "National Opposition” (a united front of Liberals and Socialists with some Conservative dissidents and Independents) not only for the defeat of Mr Chamberlain but as an alternative Government. Official Labour sources, however, deny that' overtures have come from other quarters aiming at the defeat of the Government and declare that the present intention of the Labour Party is to fight the next general election as the only alternative Government.
