The Hon F. Jones, Minister of Defence, will make a visit tomorrow, if at all possible, to the camp of the Wellington -(Territorial) Squadron of the Royal New Zealand Air Force in Blenheim.

He has been admitted to the Dannevirke Hospital for treatment. Mr McPeak is very well known in 'the Mauriceville district, where he was farming for many years, having bought a property there about fifty years ago. The death occurred suddenly in Auckland hospital of Constable William Beecroft, a well-known and popular member of the police force in Auckland, says a Press Association message. He had been a patient in the hospital since last Friday week and was making a good recovery after an, operation. This afternoon when visited by fellow constables he appeared to be in good health, but shortly after 6 o’clock, while partaking of a meal, he collapsed and died. Born in Christchurch 39 years ago, Constable Beecroft was educated at Addington school. When only 17 years of age he wont overseas and saw war service in France, where he gained the rank of sergeant. On his return from the war he served with the police force in Christchurch. Dunedin and Timaru, and for the past few years in Auckland.
