NEW MEASURES ANNOUNCED BY KING. REFERENCE TO PALESTINE QUESTION. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright, CAIRO, November 19. King Farouk, in a speech from the throne through the Prime Minister, announced an increase in military effectiveness, arms, munitions, and aeroplane factories, compulsory service, a higher standard of living, flood protection, development of the water supply, agriculture, banking and insurance, the construction of civil airports at Solium and Alexandria, the regulation of migration, the definition of the privileges of newspapers and journalists, and a reduction of, expenditure.
He added that normal resources would meet all needs, and urged fairness in settling the Palestine question.
