LEADERS AGREED
CONSTITUTIONAL CHANGE IN AUSTRALIA. SPECIAL SESSION FAVOURED. By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright. (Received This Day, 10.50 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. The Federal Prime Minister, Mr J. A. Lyons,-'in a statement at Canberra, indicated that he was in favour of holding a constitutional session of the Federal Parliament, to discuss constitutional reform. Mr Lyons said Mr J. H. Scullin’s proposals were worthy of consideration by the Government. The Leader of the Federal Opposition, Mr John Curtin, speaking at Adelaide, said he strongly favoured a session being devoted to a review of the constitution, particularly in its relationship to the States. Mr J. White, secretary of the Taxpayers’ Association of New South Wales, said his association was in complete accord with any proposal for the abolition of State Parliaments.
