GUN DOG TRIALS

HUTT VALL*EY MEETING. MASTERTON OWNER WINS THREE EVENTS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The final field and water trials of the Hutt Valley Kennel Club’s season were held on Messrs Angley and Conroy’s property, Waiwetu, on Saturday. The judge was Mr F. Eales, Lower Hutt. Other officials were Messrs G. C. Mayo, trials captain; W. Southee, judges’ steward; E. Hall and J. Searle, trap stewards; F. Gowrie, J. W. England, P. A. Rose, R. W. Plunkett, ground stewards; S. C. Rod, trials secretary. The entries were good and the standard, as indicated by the points awarded, high. Mr G. C. Mayo’s Labrador, Tararua Constant, won the aggregate for the open land and open water trials. A Masterton owner, Mr M. A. Rawlins, was very successful with his brilliant Labrador puppy, Cleopatra May, which won the Puppy Field Trial, the Novice Water Trial, and was third equal in the Open Water Trial. The same owner’s Labrador St Clair Caddy won the final event of me day, the Consolation Water Trial. Results: — Puppy Field Trial. —M. A. Rawlins’s Labrador Cleopatra May, 94pts, 1; W. C. Southee’s English Setter, Waitapu Floss, 92pts, 2; V. Bertelson’s Springer Brackenfield Swift Springer, 89pts, 3. Nine entries. Novice Field Trial. —G. C. Mayo’s Labrador Shotover Jock, 80 pts., 1; J. O. Macpherson’s Labrador Texas, 71 pts, 2; H. Laurence's Cocker Spaniel Wainui Jock, 64pts, 3. Eight entries. Open Field Trial. —G. C. Mayo’s Labrador Tararua Constant, 86pts, 1; R. W. Plunkett’s Irish Setter Redstone Tawa, 84pts, 2; J. O. Macpherson’s Labrador Texas, 73pts, 3. Nine entries. Novice Water Trial. —M. A. Rawlins’s Labrador Cleopatra May, 93pts, 1; F. J. Gorrie’s Irish Setter Cumboden Star, 85pts, 2; Dr G. F. V. Anson’s Labrador Winlaton Toreador, 15pts, 3. Five entries.
