CHILD KILLED
HIT BY MOTOR CAR (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. A child of 12 years, Joyce Mabel Pointon, jiving at the corner of Cambridge Terrace and Fifeshire Avenue, died in the Wellington Hospital yesterday afternoon through injuries received when she was knocked down by a motor-car. According to statements made to the police, the child left an Island Bay tram-car at the corner of Adelaide Roaa and Chilka Street, and ran from behind the tram into the path of the car, which was travelling north. The accident occurred at about 2.30 p.m. The child was admitted to hospital in a serious condition, with a fractured skull and concussion.
