CAR ON FIRE

VEHICLE A TOTAL LOSS. GOODS ALSO DESTROYED. - A motor-car belonging to Mr J. Kitchener, of Worksop Road, Masterton, together with goods in the car of a value of'about £5O, were destroyed by fire last night. The car was placed in the shed some hours earlier. Mr Kitchener, after returning from town at about 9 o’clock, went into the shed with a candle and about five minutes later he could smell rubber burning. Upon investigating, he found that the car was' alight. He pushed the car out of the shed and the brigade was summoned. Although the brigade quickly extinguished the fire, the car and its contents were . a total loss. Mr Kitchener had no insurance on either the car or the goods.
