GRAIN AND PRODUCE

CANTERBURY MARKETS LITTLE ACTIVITY DURING WEEK (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, November 18. There has been little activity in the Canterbury grain and produce markets this week. In fact, the in-between seasons 'period has been reached, and business will be practically at a standstill from now until the middle of January. The only line for which there has been much inquiry has been chaff, but merchants are finding good bright quality very difficult to obtain. Their price to farmers is £4 10s a ton. Business in the potato market has finised for the season, and other prices are only nominal in the meantime.
