WOMEN’S INSTITUTE
MEETING AT ALFREDTON. The members of the Alfredton Women’s Institute held their meeting recently, when Mrs Hull presided over a good attendance. Mrs Low gave a very interesting report on the Council meeting held at Eketahuna last month. Mr -Weston spoke on Mrs Kelso’s School of Instruction, which was given at the formation committee meeting of the Wairarapa Federation held at Masterton recently. Mrs Fosette showed several very useful articles in the way of Christmas novelties which she had made and said that she would come and demonstrate at some future date. The competition for the best decorated bowl was won by Mrs G. Napier, with Mrs Parsonson second and Mrs Seymour third. Other competitions resulted: Kisses, Mrs Low 1, Mrs Dickens 2, Mrs J. Spring 3. Jumbled names of members: Mrs Low 1, Mrs Hutchins 2. Mrs Parsonson thanked Mrs Fosette on behalf of the members for her very interesting display of useful articles, also for judging the competitions. The hostesses for the afternoon were Mrs Hood, Mrs Yarrall and Miss D. Roles. The function was brought to a close with the singing of the National Anthem.
