Mrs Prendergast Knight, Te Whiti, is visiting Porangahau. Mrs E. W. Bunny, “Oaonui,” has returned from Christchurch. Mrs A. Caselberg, Sussex Street, Masterton, is visiting Wellington. Mrs H. R. W. Beetham, “Highmore,” Masterton, has returned from a visit to Paraparaumu.
Mrs. P. L. McLaren, Longbush ,and Mrs. K. McLaren, Hinakura, are visiting Hawke's Bay. Mr and Mrs C. T. R. Miller, Renall Street, Masterton, are visiting at Paraparaumu Beach. Mrs Williams, Tokomaru Bay, is visiting her daughter, Mrs Ralph Bunny, Wangaehu. Mrs A. Gribben, who has been staying with Mrs J. Broad, “Fernyhurst,” has returned to Auckland. Mrs B. R. Bunny and Miss Vivienne Bunny, Cole Street, Masterton, are spending the weekend in Wanganui. Mrs A. A. Easte, of Khandallah, is visiting her mother, Mrs H. Cornish, of Longbush. Mrs J. M. Coradine, Masterton, who was a delegate to the Plunket Society conference in Wellington, is the guest of Mrs Bullock, St Peter’s Vicarage, The Terrace.
Still active and in good health, and keenly interested in topical events, Mrs T. G. Marlow, Wilding Avenue, Epsom, is celebrating her 101st birthday today. Born in London in 1837, the year in which Queen Victoria came to the Throne, Mrs Marlow has survived the complete reigns of four British Sovereigns. She came to New Zealand in 1865, and in the following year married the late Mr Marlow, who was born in London in 1838. At first they lived in Dunedin, where Mr Marlow was a draper’s assistant, and later a traveller for warehouse \ firms. ENGAGEMENTS. The engagement is announced of Dorothy Margaret, youngest daughter of Mrs and the late Mr A. Kirkpatrick, Woodville, and Horace Garnet, only son of Mr and Mrs J. Rose, Kohinui, Pahiatua. The engagement is announced of Janet Isabel, daughter of Mrs and the late Mr Alex Young, Heretaunga, to William Brittain, son of Mrs and the late Mr F. B. Lowes, Wairangi, Eketahuna. The engagement is announced of Roma Isobel, only daughter of Mr and the late Mrs L. Frances, Masterton, to Cyril Melville, only son of Mr and Mrs G. H.. Walker, Lower Hutt.
