HOSPITAL SUPERINTENDENT’S POWERS. MUST BE SUPREME HEAD. . A reorganisation of the control and existing working system of the Masterton Hospital, consequent upon the appointment of a full-time Medical Superintendent, was fully considered by the Wairarapa Hospital Board at today’s meeting. . The chairman, Mr H. H. Mawley, said that under the present system the Medical Superintendent did not have sufficient say or control. The Health Department considered that the new Superintendent should be largely taken up with administration work and should not be particularly wrapped up with surgery or some other depart- . ment. The idea was that the new man would be the supreme head of the pital.'A deputation representing the medical practitioners waited on the board and discussed a number of domestic matters with the board. . .
