EARLY SETTLERS

BOROUGH ACCEPTS TRUST OFFER. PHOTOGRAPH FOR CHAMBER. The Borough Council, at its meeting last night, accepted with thanks an offer by the Trust Lands Trust, to hand over to the council framed photographs of early Masterton settlers, including those of several ex-Mayors. Councillors agreed with the suggestion df the Mayor, Mr T. Jordan, that an effort should be made to secure photographs of ex-Mayors of the town, to be displayed in the council chambers. The matter was referred to the Park and Halls Committee to deal with.
