FARMERS & DEFENCE
CONSIDERATION AT COMING CONFERENCE SUGGESTED BY WAIRARAPA PRESIDENT “Our defences are the worst in the British Empire,'and we are the country most likely to be attacked,” stated Mr J. C. Cooper, at the meeting of the Wairarapa Farmers’ Union today, when referring to a letter from the New Zealand Defence League drawing attention to the state of New Zealand’s defences.
Mr Hugfi Morrison (Provincial President) said it was a question that should be considered by the Dominion Conference. There was a lot in what the league had' to say, but at the same time he did not think there was much danger of an invasion before the next conference in May.
