■ KURIPUNI LADIES’ GUILD. i The monthly meeting of the Kuripuni Methodist Ladies’ Guild took place on Thursday afternoon when Miss M. Burton presided over a good gathering. Postor C. H. Skuse opened the meeting and briefly addressed those present. The holding of the Spring Fair and Flower Show on Thursday, December 8, was discussed and the following were appointed to the various stalls.: — Flower show sections, Mrs R. H. Thornton; cake stall, Mesdames Marshall, Allan, Hoar and Walsh; work stall, Mesdames Carr, Jones and Reeves; sweet stall, Mesdames Blane, Butt and Moore; produce stall, Mesdames Attree, Joyce and Thornton; afternoon tea, Mesdames Speight, Swinn and Barnett; fruit salads, Mrs Blane

Senr.; bran tub, Misses N. Jones and E. Barnett; baby show, Mesdames Reeves and Barnett. A schedule for the Flower Show was presented by Mrs R. H. Thornton. Entrants may procure these by ringing her on telephone 1829. Entries are to close at 11 o’clock on Thursday, December 8. Special prizes will be offered in each section. A new and novel feature of the Fair will be the Baby Show to be held at 3 p.m. Special prizes in four sections are being offered, boys and girls under 9 months and between 9 and 18 months. This event should make the afternoon programme very attractive. The judging will take place at 3 p.m. At the evening entertainment a varied programme will be presented by local artists, including drill and gymnastic displays, vocal and musical items. The function will be opened by the Rev. and Mrs F. L. Pdrker at 2.30 p.m. The guild meeting was brought to a conclusion after refreshments had been enjoyed.
