SALE AT FEILDING YOUNG CATTLE IN DEMAND (By Telegraph—Press Association.) FEILDING, November 11. Young cattle sold at highly satisfactory prices at the Feilding supplementary cattle fair today, when over 2000 head made up the yarding. The cattle were in splendid condition, and of acceptable quality; practically the whole of the entry was sold at auction. The fat sheep sale was firm, and store sheep sold readily at previous rates. Some valuations were:—
Cattle: Two-year P.A. steers, good, £8 to £9; others, £7 to £7 7s 6d; P.A. heifers, best £6 7s, smaller £4 to £5; empty P.A. cows, £5 4s to £6 7s; twoyear Hereford steers, very good, £9 Is; smaller, £6 2s 6d; coloured two-year steers, £4 9s to £6; P.A. cows, r.w. P.A. bulls, £4 2s 6d; two-year shorthorn steers, £6 7s; three-year P.A. steers, £8 16s; P.A. heifers, £5 12s to £7; three-year Jersey steers, £4 19s 6d to £6 17s 6d; empty heifers, £3 17s 6d; Hereford cows, £6 10s; two-year Hereford heifers, £4 9s; four-year bullocks, £9 7s to £lO 7s; bulls, £2 17s 6d to £6 ss; boner cows, £2, 7s 6d to £5 7s 6d; yearling P.A. heifers, £2 16s to £3 12s; yearling Hereford heifers, £3 2s to £3 13s; yearling Hereford steers, £4 12s to £6 ss; yearling P.A. steers, £4 Ils to £6 Ils.
Dairy cattle: Springing heifers, best £8 10s to £10; others £6 5s to £6 10s; heifers in milk, £6; springing, £5 10s to £7 15s; cows in milk, £9; cows, good £8 10s to £9 10s; others, £ll ss; poor, £5.
Fat cattle: Medium weight P.A. cows, £8 17s 6d; lighter, £6 15s to £7 ss; heavy Hereford cows, £9 7s to £9 12s 6d; Hereford heifers, £8 to £9 ss; ex dairy cows, £5 10s to £7 ss. Fat sheep: Hoggets, prime 23s to 255; medium 21s to 22s lOd; others, 16s to 20s 6d; ewes, best 16s 6d to 17s 6d; lighter 22s 3d to 25s Id prime maiden ewes, 24s 6d; prime wethers, 23s 9d to 255; medium, 22s lOd to 235; light, 20s. Store sheep: Ewe hoggets, best 31s Id to 33s Id; others, 28s 6d to 30s 3d; wether hoggets, good, 21s lOd to 22s 6d; smaller, 19s 7d to 20s 7d; backward, 14s lOd to 17s; ewes and lambs, 13s 4d to 14s lOd; all counted; fattening ewes, Ils 4d; b.f. hoggets, good 18s Bd, others 14s lOd to 16 Id; two-tooth wethers, 15s 9d to 17s 9d. Pigs: Weaners, 18s 6d to 245; slips, 21s to 365; stores, 34s to 40s; porkers, 40s to 48s 6d. CARTERTON SALE Good yardings of sheep, cattle and pigs were offered by Wright, Stephenson and Company at the weekly Carterton sale yesterday. With the exception of some of the heavier pigs, all classes of stock sold well up to late rates. Prices were as follow: —
Sheep: Ewes with lambs at foot, all counted, 12s 3d to 13s; fat shorn, b.f. hoggets, 18s lOd; fat woolly hoggets, 23s to 23s 4d.
Cattle: Jersey heifers, on drop, £6 5s to £8 10s; Jersey heifers, just calved. £5 to £6; Holstein second calver, on drop, £10; fat cows, £5 5s to £7 8s; fat heifers, £6 to £7; forward cows, £3 10s to £4 15s; store cows, 38s to £2 16s; cows and calves, £3 16s to £5 Bs.
Pigs: Weaners, good 21s to 265; medium, 18s to 20s 6d; small, 10s to 16s 6d; slips, 26s 6d to 295; stores, 30s to 325; light porkers, 32s 6d to 355; porkers, 36s 6d to £2 8s; baconers, £2 16s to £3 ss; choppers, to £3.
