VARIETY ENTERTAINERS. ENJOYABLE TEA PARTY. (“Times-Age” Special.) The committee of the Featherston Variety Entertainers gave a very enjoyable tea party to the children who had performed at the concerts in the Parish Hall recently. After tea lollies, squeakers and balloons were handed to the children, and the time passed pleasantly with games, songs and dancing. At the conclusion of the function, Percy Henderson thanked Mrs Lowell and Mrs Boston and the committee for having provided the children with a most enjoyable evening. Farewell Social. The ladies of the Kahutara Women’s Institute tendered a farewell social to Mrs W. Fuge Junr, who is leaving the district to take up residence in Greytown. Mrs McKenna (president) in making a presentation to Mrs Fuge expressed regret that Mrs Fuge was leaving the district as she had been an enthusiastic member. Mrs Fuge suitably acknowledged the honour done her. Euchre Tournament. The Featherston Croquet Club held a euchre tournament at the home of the president, Mrs Saunders. The prize-winners were: Mrs Johns, 1; Mrs Charles, 2. Bowling Teams. The following teams will represent the Featherston Club against Carterton on Saturday:— At Carterton: McNamara, Willis, Hyland, Smith (s); Lepenski, Murray, O’Neale, Deas (s). At home: Davis, Ryre, W. Higgison, Bloxam (s); Kilsby, Card, James, Rolls (s). Shield: Roxburgh, Karaitiana, Fuge, J. Higgison (s).
