SAILING CHAMPIONSHIP

EIGHTEEN-FOOTERS race

TO BE HELD AT AUCKLAND IN FEBRUARY

(Received This Day, 11 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day.

The world championship for eigh-ten-footers will definitely be held at Auckland next February. Mr W. Scahill, owner of, the present champion, Taree, has announced that he has already sent the trophy to Auckland, and that the trophy would be sailed for even if the Taree were unable to make the trip in defence of the title. Mr Scahill added that there were some doubts regarding the Taree’s participation in the race, but he hoped that the skipper, B. Swinbourne, and the crew would find their way clear to go to New Zealand.
