LOCAL BODY SERVICE
TRIBUTES TO LATE HON A. D. McLEOD & MR Q. DONALD.
“The district has lost two very able men by the deaths of the Hon A. D. McLeod and Mr Quentin Donald,” observed the chaiman of the Masterton County Council. Mr R. E. Gordon Lee. at yesterday’s meeting. "Both had served for many years on local bodies and had worked faithfully and well." he said. Mr Lee moved that a motion of sympathy be passed with the relatives of Messrs McLeod and Donald.
Councillor W. I. Armstrong said he had been connected with both of them, Mr Donald particularly, for some years. He paid a tribute to the splendid work done by Mr Donald, who had helped him and others to get work done in districts other than Mr Donald’s. Mr Donald, said Councillor Armstrong, was always keen' to get something done ; n the backblocks district and it was greatly to his credit that he had taken up that stand. The motion of sympathy- was carried : n silence, all members standing as a mark of respect.
