DRUIDS’ LODGE
MEETING AT CARTERTON. The fortnightly meeting of the Totara Lodge of Druids was held last evening, Bro D. Gayfer, Arch Dru ; d, presiding. Bro Frank Sage, of Lower Hutt, reported he was an inmate of Wellington Hospital as the result of an accident to his hand. Bro B. Ni> Isen, who is in Grevtown Hospital, is making good progress and expects to be discharged shortly. A report was received that Bro Neville Armstrong, who is an inmate of Masterton Hospital, was making fair progress.
Accounts passed for payment included £2O 19s 4d for sick pay, £6 maternity claim, general £1 7s lid. Tne Grand Lodge forwarded a circular explaining the Social Security Act as it affects Friendly Societies. The circular will be discussed at the quarterly meeting on November 21. Business at the next meeting will include the election of officers for rhe ensuing *erm, ihe election of a delegate to attend the Grand Lodge Conference to be kelci in New Plymouth in 1939, and nominations for District President.
