STRIKING DISPLAY

X-RAY VIEW OF MODERN FORD CAR. While'motorists with some mechanical knowledge will appreciate fully the technical worth of the display, even the lay mind, will be entranced by the marvellous construction of the Ford V 8 motor and chassis now on view in the Bannister Street showroom of Messrs Fagan Motois, Ltd. A standard Ford V 8 passenger car has been cut-away to show the constructional details, giving, in effect, an Xray view of the mechanical parts of this famous car. An electric motor provides the power for operating the "cut-away motor and transmission. When started. the onlooker can see in clear detail pistons moving up and down the cylinders, lights flashing on each plug in correct firing order, easy and flexible transmission of the motor’s power through gear-box and differential to the rear driving wheels—a vivid impression of the might of the modern motor-car, yet simple and robust in construction. Even a cursory inspection of this V 8 display will remove to a considerable degree the inherent fear which so many motorists have of the supposedly intricate mechanical construction of their cars. So far as the Ford V 8 is concerned, this display shows clearly the real simplicity of operation. The motor and transmission units s.eem to lose their fearfulness. Every detail seems so simple, so natural in principle, that the wonder of it all is how such a unit can perform with such wonderful capabilities. The display will remain in Fagan Motors showroom until November 15 and should be inspected by all who have the opportunity. Not only is it a tribute to Ford engineering design and construction, but also it is a lesson in modern motor engineering.*
