ST. MATTHEW’S CHURCH

CONFIRMATION SERVICE. NINETY-ONE CANDIDATES PRESENTED. St. Matthew’s Church was packed to the doors last night when the Rt. Rev. H. St. Barbe Holland conducted the annual confirmation service. Ninety-one candidates were presented, and the service was a most inspiring one. In the course of his address the Bishop dealt with the choice that has to be made by every individual in the face of present-day conditions. He challenged all to take their stand for the Christian way and so do something to bring about a better world. Only a real and sincere personal faith was adequate as a foundation for life. To see such a great number coming forward for confirmation was indeed inspiring. All. young and old, had their part to play and God was ready to give His guidance and strength to all who came to Him.

Next Sunday at 8 a.m. the newly confirmed candidates will make their first communion and all communicants are asked to join with them in that great service which will be followed by the annual fellowship breakfast in the Parish Hall.
