HUGE RESERVOIR
ADDITION TO LONDON’S WATER SUPPLY. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 10.30 a.m.) . RUGBY, November 4. A reservoir under construction at Staines, for the Metropolitan Water Board at a cost of £1,125,000, and intended to add 4,400 million gallons to the board’s storage capacity as a safeguard in times of drought, is making good progress. A thousand workmen, aided by the most modern machinery, are engaged in moving seven millions tons of soil and forming a water-re*' taining core wall of 680 thousand tons of puddled clay. The area is 350 acres, with a circumference of Similes.
