Good Companions.
A lamb and a spaniel frolicking together provided an unusual sight in Helmore’s Reserve, Christchurch, recently. Oddly assorted as they were, the animals played together in the friendliest spirit, the *lamb showing no fear of its playmate, and responding to the calls of the dog’s master with an apparent intelligence unusual ’in its kind. Territorial Dress Uniform. Excellent progress has been made by the contractors with the new fulldress blue uniform for the Territorial Army, and it is expected that the first supply will be ready by the middle of this month. Sample sizes for fitting have already been issued to the four centres and units are now submitting their indents for clothing the rank and file. When the first supply comes to hand an immediate start will be made to issue them before the Christmas vacation. The balance of the uniforms will be issued before the camping season begins in February. Already this week members of units in the Wellington military area have been measured for their regimental indent and a batch of 20 uniforms has been available for inspection. The quality of the material is stated to be equal in every respect to the pattern laid down for officers’ dress uniforms.
