STRIKE IN AUCKLAND
PROTEST AGAINST AWARD DELAY. GLASS WORKERS’ GRIEVANCE. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, This Day. One hundred and fifty members of the Auckland Glass Workers’ Union struck this morning as a protest against being unable to obtain a fixture for the hearing of their award claims in the Arbitration Court. The men had been advised by the Court that they could not secure a fixture for six months. The workers on strike are mostly employees of the Australian Glass Manufacturers’ Company Ltd. Penrose.
