SEAMAN FINED
ON CHARGE OF DESERTION. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. Charged with deserting from the ship Tairoa, a seaman aged 24, Richard Arwyn Evans, was fined £5. He claimed that his desertion was not intentional, but was the result of a few drinks. Any money due to him and his effects were still on the vessel.
