AS MEANS OF RAISING FUNDS FOR SPORTS. A WELLINGTON SUGGESTION. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. . The suggestion of a State lottery to raise money to further the work of the National Council of Physical Welfare and Recreation, particularly in the direction of providing sports amenities, such as playing fields and swimming baths, was made at the annual meeting of the Wellington Amateur Athletic Centre last night, and was supported by all but two or three delegates. It was decided to approach kindred sports bodies with the object of forming a deputation to the Minister of Internal Affairs and asking him to place the proposal before the Government.
