The death occurred at Pafiiatua on Sunday of Mr Robert Harry Taylor at the age of 61 years. The Hon. W. Nash, Minister of Finance, will return to Wellington today from Christchurch. / The Hon. W. Lee Martin, Minister of Agriculture, returned to Wellington from Hamilton yesterday. The Hon. F. Jones, Minister of Defence, left Wellington for Auckland by the Limited express last night. The Hon. P. Fraser, Minister of Health, who has been visiting the South Island, will return to Wellington today. Major (“lan Hay”) Beith has been promoted Major-General and appointed to succeed Sir G. Dawnay as Public Relations Officer at the War Office, a London cablegram reports. Mr A. Congalton, supervisor of the mailroom at the Wanganui Chief Post Office, and formerly of Masterton, has been promoted to the position of supervisor of the postman’s branch at the Central Post Office, Wellington. The Rev. P. Wiltshire, Vicar of Pongaroa. who has accepted the charge of the parish of Hunterville, which is in the Archdeaconry of Rangitikei, was assistant-curate at All Saints’, Palmerston North, for some.years.
