PILLION RIDER HURT

MOTOR-CYCLE ACCIDENT NEAR GLADSTONE. MAORI IN HOSPITAL. Extensive facial and other injuries were sustained by a Maori labourer of Gladstone named Charles Meta when a motor-cycle, on which he was pillion riding, skidded and crashed on Sunday. The accident occurred on the eastern approach of the Gladstone bridge. The driver of tne motor-cycle was not hurt but his passenger, who is now progressing well in the Masterton Hospital, was fairly badly cut about.
