LONDON QUOTATIONS. ■ BUTTER MARKET FIRM. The London butter market was firm last week, according to the cabled report supplied by the Primary Products Marketing Department to the Dairy Board. Friday’s closing quotations, with those of the previous week in parentheses, were as follows: — New Zealand: Salted, 114 s (114 s a year ago, 150 s to 1525); unsalted, 114 s to 115 s (114 s to 115 s; a year ago, 150 s to 1525). Australian: Salted, 109 s to 110 s (109 s to 110 s); unsalted, 110 s to 112 s (110 s to Ills). Danish: 115 s f.0.b.; 136 s to 137 s spot (107 s 128 s to 1295). Dutch: Unsalted, x loBs to 109 s, ex. Ills (106 s to 107 s). Lithuanian: Unsalted, 110 s to 112 s (108 s to 109 s). South Africa: 106 s to 108 s (not quoted). Retail prices were unchanged, New Zealand at Is 2d and Danish at Is 3d a lb. Deliveries of New Zealand butter last week were 1022 tons, the quantity remaining in store beinf* 3725 tons, as against 2356 tons a year ago. Deliveries of Australian butter were 1405 tons, the quantity left in store being 2893 tons, as against 435 tons a year ago. The Imperial Economic Committee’s estimate of the stocks of all butter in store was 1,002,745 boxes, as against 377,022 boxes a year ago. The cheese market was firmer at the close. Friday’s closing quotations, with those of the previous week in parentheses, were as follows: — New Zealand: White and coloured, 70s 6d to 71s (71s; a year ago, white 72s to 735; coloured, 71s to 725). Australian: White and coloured, 67s to 69s (67s to 695). Canadian: White and coloured, 72s to 73s (72s to 735); old season’s white, 80s (80s). English: Finest farmers’, 86s to 86s 6d (86s to 925); factory cheese, 66s to 695, ex. 71s (66s to 695). Deliveries of New Zealand cheese last week were 9778 crates, the quantity remaining in store being 3.5,317 crates, as against 38,433 crates a year ago. De? liveries of Canadian cheese were 8824 boxes, the quantity in store being 111,951 boxes as against 156,508 boxes a year ago.
